CADS Calendar

Hello Prospective Volunteers

We are always in need of volunteers to help organize and enhance our programs throughout the year. We aim for a two to one Instructor to student ratio and take in up to 60 Students. Many volunteers have told us that becoming an instructor has made a profound impact on their lives. They feel fulfilled with the experiences they have with their students. Volunteers feel great satisfaction with the improvements their students make during the season. Volunteer information for the 2017 2018 season is available now, Volunteer Information 2017 2018

Available Positions

On hill, volunteers are needed as organizers, instructors, teaching assistants and guides. CADS Edmonton will provide volunteer instructor on hill training in instruction techniques for the various disciplines of disabled skiing. This occurs primarily at our training weekend prior to the season and continues during the season at Monday night training sessions at Rabbit Hill. In addition to local training, CADS-Edmonton encourages instructors to pursue CADS certification through courses offered either locally or in other zones (financial assistance toward attending such courses may be offered upon approval by the Edmonton Board).

Non-skiing volunteers in snow boots can assist instructors and supervisors on the bunny slopes. Volunteers are indispensable when assisting in the lodge and helping organize fun events at the hill.

BOARD OF DIRECTORS: You can assist with program planning and administration by participating as a member of the CADS-Edmonton Board of Directors.

Help CADS Recruit

As an incentive to bring in new volunteers we are asking that returning volunteers bring a friend, co-worker or a family member to our registration night. If they become a volunteer instructor for our upcoming season, you will be entered into a draw.

As a volunteer with CADS, you are required to hold a current membership with CADS National; the cost is $45 per year. CADS Edmonton has previously been fully subsidizing this amount on your behalf. CADS Edmonton is the only
zone in Western Canada that has covered the full CADS membership fee for volunteers. This is no longer feasible so CADS Edmonton will now cover $25 and our volunteers will pay the remaining $20. Your CADS member benefits won’t
change and continues to include all of the benefits and discounts you get with your CADS membership, the details of which are listed on the website https://cadsalberta.ca/ticket-discounts/. Most importantly, CADS Membership provides each member with 2 types of insurance coverage for the season through CADS National (sports injury and third party liability). Please pay $20 to CADS Edmonton via E-Transfer to coordinator@cadsedmonton.ca , cheque or cash.

If the temperature at the Edmonton International Airport is  -20 or lower without the windchill or extreme weather conditions exist at 4:30 p.m. on a lesson night, the lesson will be cancelled.

Please Call our Info Line (780-577-1442) if you are uncertain if the lesson is cancelled. Do Not Call Rabbit Hill.
